The DECA chapter at the Meadowbrook Academy for Developing Entrepreneurs won multiple awards at the DECA State Leadership Conference. Around the globe, DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management.
Melissa A. and Maya T., co-owners of Defined Roots Hair Care, qualified to compete in the DECA International Career Development Conference by winning second place in the business growth plan prepared event. They are the first students from the Meadowbrook High specialty center to advance to the international conference, which will take place in April in California.
Meadowbrook students also brought home these honors:

- Kayla B.: top 10 on exam for food marketing
- Reese W.: top 10 on exam for travel and tourism marketing team decision making
- Chandler R.: top 10 in role-play for restaurant and food service management
- Melissa A. and Maya T.: Recognized CCPS District Co-Presidents
