Overview
FCCLA's Ultimate Leadership Experience equips members with real-world skills through Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) education.
FCCLA prepares members for careers through its four career pathways: Human Services, Hospitality and Tourism, Education and Training, and Visual Arts and Design.
FCCLA members will strengthen skills, forge friendships, and make a positive difference in today’s world by participating in competitive events, serving in leadership positions, attending national conferences, networking with youth leaders, and attaining essential college- and career-ready skills.
Highlights
September - Membership drive
October - Culinary competition at the Virginia State Fair;
November - Collect non-perishable food items for families in need;
December - Host a holiday meal for teachers;
January - Sock drive
February - FCCLA Week: Valentine's Day cards for seniors in nursing homes or assisted living facilities; cupcake fundraiser
March - Health Cooking Workshop-Cupcake Wars
April - Schoolwide Cleanup
May - Mental Health Awareness
Time Commitment
FCCLA is a part of the FACS Curriculum, therefore meetings are held bi-weekly during class time. After-school commitments may be needed depending on the project we are working on.
How to Sign Up
Our club begins with an informational meeting the second or third week of school. If you miss the first meeting, you can find the information on our class canvas page.
If you are not taking a FACS class but have taken one in the past, email the club sponsor indicating you would like to join.
